A church in Fairfax City
New Hope belongs to a denomination called the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), which was founded in 1973. The PCA now includes over 1,700 churches throughout the US and Canada.
New Hope was founded in 1990 by a group of families belonging to McLean Presbyterian Church who wanted to start a PCA congregation in Fairfax City. Dave Coffin was called to serve as New Hope’s first pastor, and Paul Wolfe joined him as an Associate Pastor in 2000. At the beginning of 2018, Paul became Senior Pastor, and Dave assumed a new Assistant Pastor role, from which he retired in 2024.
In June of 2025, Paul stepped down from serving as New Hope’s pastor to begin a new role with Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. New Hope is currently searching for its next pastor, and we’re confident the Lord has wonderful things in store for our church family!
A place to meet
In 2020, our church began meeting at 11400 Shirley Gate Court in Fairfax, where we share a building with Fairfax Korean Church. We’re grateful to God for the lovely building that’s now our church home!
